As we all know, our students have been out of the classroom for a significant amount of time. I will have third grade students; both in class and online. The school is Title 1 with over 95% of our students on free or reduced lunch. My students will be anywhere from one to three years below grade level. Third grade in Florida is a critical year - students take the FSA, which decides whether of not they move onto fourth grade. My students need the ability to develop and strengthen their reading, literacy, and comprehension skills in order to truly master third grade and the future. This is difficult for many of our students, as they do not have home libraries or access to interesting reading material. I would like to make sure my students are supported and offered as much rich text literature as possible. With these reading and math materials, students will be able to build their competency skills and love of learning both in school and at home.
