These puppets will provide students opportunities creatively engage in new ways to learn and teach other students new vocabulary. This interactive approach will help promote student engagement and retention in new vocabulary acquisition. Students will serve as teachers and mentors in the library. This will build confidence and promote the idea that they came to become vocabulary experts. Students, in groups of three, will be assigned a new vocabulary. They will create a short puppet play by introducing the word, spelling it, using it in a sentence, and acting out the definition.
