Whether my students and I are together in our physical classroom or together in our virtual classroom, we will use these books during read alouds to create discussions around topics and as mentor texts for students completing projects and assignments. Students may also choose to read these texts during independent reading times. Students will be able to view themselves and others by connecting to the characters and/or experiences within the pages of these texts, thanks to you! These stories will help them become confident in themselves, open-minded to new perspectives and viewpoints, and to become more inclusive of all individuals.
