Students will be learning wood working at home during the first quarter of the school year. They will be receiving a kit each week with pre cut wood, instructions, nails, glue, etc. The kit will enable them to make a wood working project from home that they can share with their family. Each kit will come with a new tool that they can add to their toolbox (that they will make). Other projects include a squirrel picnic table, planter, candy dispenser, lanyard holder with hook, trivet with painted pattern and a small box. These kits have the potential to ignite student inquiry and hook them on learning because it is fun, not because of an assignment. Students will be able to limit their screen time and spend time on a hands-on assignment. I have many items for the kits already, but I really need the boxes to put them in and some tools so that they can measure from home. Your support would really be exciting.
