I believe adding iPads to my student's stations will enhance my students learning with engaging and creative ways to practice skills being taught, such as using a magnetic letter app to build sight words, and word games to practice letters, sounds, and word families. In math, I will use the iPads at a station to help reinforce previous learning of skills, such as, identifying numbers, count, adding, telling time, and etc. Technology is the way of the future, it is important for me to teach my students how to practice using technology responsibility at a young age, in hopes it will add to their success. With that being said my mind is full of ideas of how using technology will benefit our learning environment, such as having an I-pad listening station. Listen centers are great! They can help children focus on the sounds of words read without interruption and provides a model of fluent reading. Many books online have interesting sound effects, music, and multiple narrators that are especially motivating and fun for young children, as well as teaching students critical listening skills. Another way is playing educational songs to help practice and make learning fun, example musical sight words, playing tunes to help the student to remember to start their letters from the top. Really, the possibilities are endless with using technology such as I-pads in the classroom. Having iPads, protective cases, head phones, and speakers will help to create countless learning opportunities for my students.
