As a language teacher I am always looking for new ways to help my students acquire the second language, moving away from memorization but to actually internalizing the information to be able to retrieve it later to use it for communication. Comprehensible input (CI) is one way to do this. Going desk-less helps in achieving that goal, as students are more focus on the input and are not distracted or hide behind the desk. The first part of CI is mainly audio, listening and speaking, but when the writing portion of it comes, it is important for me that my students have a comfortable space for them to use.
