My students include every student on campus, and virtually at home this year. Books that build social skills, discuss emotions, and help children build resilience are a great way to talk about these complex issues with young children and can easily be accessed through tele-therapy to those learning at home! In these difficult times, building children's resilience and social-emotional skills are crucial. Through the use of a therapeutic library students from ages 4-12 at my school can tackle these difficult topics in a fun way that they can more easily understand. We have few resources at our school and something like a printer and sound machine can help my students succeed with access to printable resources they can work on and take home, and calming sounds to help them relax in our counseling office.
