The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a purpose in future lessons, all that is needed is acquiring them. As a first-year teacher, providing the resources that can help drive instruction for my students can be tricky due to the cost of furnishing a classroom. Looking at the supplies, timers will be very important, as students with disabilities tend to rely heavily on visual cues and knowing when a transition will be happening. A majority of the books on my list have a focus on diversity, as I want to ensure that my students embrace our classroom environment of inclusivity while valuing the importance of differences in one another. The books also differ in reading level, as I know it is important to provide students with material that fits where they are at with their learning; though some books will be used as guided reading texts to help students apply and practice certain skills. Your donation to our project will help support a learning environment that will allow students to embrace their abilities, as they can learn in a way that suits them best using materials that support their unique learning style. As a teacher, I want to provide the world for my students. This is hard, however, because funding is often limited. A lot of the materials I have acquired have been at the result of money from my own pocket. It is people like you who can help me provide materials to help support the overall success of my classroom. I am so grateful for your generosity, as it is people like you who make teachers truly feel valued and supported.
