First, many supplies are needed for basic support to measure chemicals and keep students safe with gloves, beakers, and electronic balances. One way in which these are used is when we study the most effective antacid as stomach acid is neutralized. Second, students need lots of microscope slides as they examine specimens, cells, and cell division with microscopes. Students love to examine pond water samples they collect! So many seemingly insignificant items such as distilled water are essential to keep contaminants out of beakers and graduated cylinders, as well as making liquid measurements precise.
