These are basic supplies that students need in multiple classes. Many of my students come with only the basic supplies of paper and pencil. Having needed supplies in the classroom for my students helps them to be on a 'more level' ground with all students. We are focusing on using growth mindset in math (by Jo Boaler) with lots of visual representations, discussions and writing. Dry erase markers are used daily in my math classroom during several different daily activities. Pencils and spirals are a necessity when there isn't a textbook for students to use. We are learning to make math visual this year which incorporates the use of highlighters and glue sticks. I will be teaching in person and online to some students. The apple pen allows me to move around the classroom while teaching and allows students the use of the same program so they can interact with the lesson also. The Apple pen is really important for when I am videoing lessons for virtual students and any other students who might need to see it again.
