As an itinerant talented visual arts teacher, I've taken it upon myself to ensure each of my students has their own set of basic supplies. I'll be going between four different schools this year and students are unable to share supplies as we might have done in the past, which is the catalyst for this project. Art is important, now more than ever, as a cathartic means for students to express themselves creatively; by funding this project we're guaranteeing students have access to their own individual supplies while maintaining adherence to social distancing. It is important to bare in mind both student safety and my own safety as a priority. Providing students with their own materials helps prevent the spread of any germs from supplies. Since we will unfortunately be unable to have communal supplies, ensuring students have access to a variety of materials will further their art education while maintaining their safety.
