In the last years of remote learning, our students have lost many opportunities to develop socially. The maturity that is won by working together in groups and accepting each members' strengths and shortcomings will serve them in their lives. This project will make a difference in the lives of my students, both by equipping them with skills they can use in a variety of ways and by engaging and challenging them in the classroom. I teach a robotics class where we work on projects together. This is a high school-level STEM class. The focus and purpose of this class are to help students learn to contribute their skills to a group and to facilitate a sense of community effort while valuing each contributor to the project. Robotics kits are great for this endeavor as they are technologically challenging and also inspire the wonder of the child inside of us.
