My students are neurodiverse learners with autism spectrum disorder who experience the classroom in unique and individualized ways. They often benefit from predictable routines, clear visual supports, and structured environments that reduce anxiety and support successful transitions throughout the school day. Many students are bright, curious learners who may need additional support with sensory regulation, communication, attention, and executive functioning skills to fully access instruction. They thrive when given movement opportunities, flexible seating, and consistent expectations, along with tools that help them understand and navigate their day. With the right supports, my students demonstrate strong growth in independence, confidence, and academic and social-emotional development while contributing meaningful strengths to our classroom community.
