Do you remember, when you were a kid, going back to school with all new crayons, pencils and erasers? I know I do. I was so excited to have brand new crayons, folders, notebooks and special things for my desk. For students in my classroom, not all of them will know that excitement .
The essential supplies in this project will help my students to be excited about school and their learning with some all new materials, just for them. Primarily, these supplies will be used in the classroom but also with the help of the pencil bags, they can easily be transported home if need be. A lot of the supplies will be used during Language Arts times, especially the book bins and the notebooks. I can't wait to read all of the amazing writing my students create in the notebooks. They will also be a great keepsake for the students to see how far they have come at the end of the year.
With such uncertain times, a lot of these supplies will be so helpful to keep students separated and safe from any virus. Having these supplies will hopefully also put a little less burden on the families and parents of my class. All of these supplies will help my students be ready to learn and be more successful in their second grade year.
