Books will be used to engage readers through literature circles or book clubs. Students will read independently and then come together to discuss and analyze what they have read. Students will apply a range of reading strategies to help them comprehend and add to lively discussions. Students will be able to choose what book they want to explore and learn how to dissect a book within a small, safe group. Having a variety of books allows them to choose one on their own reading level to ensure comprehension and active participation.
