My students, come to me several times a day. Not only do I work with them in our learning strategies class to help them obtain organizational and social skills, but I am also their "Case manager". What this means, is that when they need help in any of their other classes, they can come to me for support. I often find myself working with students to complete projects for other teachers. This is why I am requesting markers and a color printer. SO often, teachers assign reports or projects that require students to print out pictures. Due to socio-economic factors, many of my students do not have access to a printer at home. The printer and ink will help ensure they have the ability to be successful all year round. I am also requesting a classroom set of markers for this same reason. Though some of my students have academic challenges, some of them are due to ADD/ADHD. Wobble stools and noise-canceling headphones will help these students concentrate on instruction or their work. The stools will allow them to move in a discreet way, where the headphones will allow students to listen to audio instruction or simply use unplugged for the noise canceling benefits.
