My first priority this year is to keep my students safe and healthy while we try to navigate what Pre-K looks like during COVID-19. Since we are not allowed carpets this year due to social distancing requirements, this project will allow my students to each have their own space to listen to stories, play, work, and do yoga/gross motor away from the table while remaining socially distant. Sitting at a table all day is practically impossible for Pre-Kindergarten students! The lap desks, yoga mats, and book bins are all easily sanitized and can be moved around the room throughout the day so that the students are not confined to one specific spot in the classroom all day. The lap desks will allow the students to keep all their personal materials organized and away from other classmates. The book bins will allow the students to have a selection of books to choose from during centers or transitions since our full classroom library will no longer be readily available.
