Our students need to feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. There are so many uncertainties with school - the reliance on technology vs. paper/pencil learning, the potential for a school shutdown any day due to COVID, wondering if their friends are doing well during a school day that does not offer the opportunity for socialization outside of their classroom. The classroom needs to feel warm and inviting, with options for these kids to be comfortable in their learning environment. The flexible seating that I am hoping to be able to offer to them will help ease the stress of being in a classroom that does not feel like the classroom that they are used to. The math materials are much needed for in school and potentially at-home learning, and our kids need to make progress in their math skills. Any help is appreciated...and needed. I want to continue to create a classroom environment that lessens the social-emotional burden on kids, allows choice in their comfort in the learning environment, and provides them with the tools they need to truly learn. Thanks for reading and considering this project!
