Many of my students come from low-income families and may not have the funds necessary to purchase all the supplies needed if the school goes virtual. Last year many of my students did not have basic art supplies and drawing paper. I needed to teach the students a few different ways to complete the art assignment with different supplies. This year I would love to be able to provide some of the families with a sketchbook in order to supply the students with paper that will allow them to create drawings and paintings based on contemporary artists and real-world issues. These students need a way to express through art what they may be experiencing in their world as well. I think providing them with the means to do so is so invaluable.
