As any dual language teacher can tell you, we always struggle to find resources to support our kids. Books are an even harder challenge to find. With a library of authentic spanish books, I can create many lessons that the students can actually relate to. They can see characters that look like them, with their skin color and speaking the same language as them. Just providing them with the options in my library to have these authentic spanish books is already a win for my kids. Allowing them to take them home and reading them with their parents is a even bigger win. It will provide that parent involvement and allow the parents to actually read to them, since many of them dont speak english.
