My students would greatly benefit from assistive technology, such as text to voice reader pens and electronic dictionaries/spell-checkers, so they could better demonstrate their abilities and excel in the general education ELA setting. Often students' frustration levels with decoding and spelling slow them down and keep them from being able to fully access and output in written form the knowledge they are otherwise capable of comprehending and vocalizing. These critical resources will help them read and write with confidence, show how much they know, and meet their learning goals and standards.
