The equipment and materials requested will allow the students broaden their experiences and skill sets so that they will enjoy physical activity. This positive attitude towards physical education will benefit each student in the long run by teaching them to be active for a lifetime. The specific equipment I am asking for will be used in a jump-rope unit where the students will be learning about health related components and cardio respiratory endurance. Racket sports are a very unique and rare activity that the students will be able to practice and partake in. Learning the basic skill cues in younger grades will allow our P.E. program to teach them the actual game rules and history as they grow into middle school grades.
