Support of this project will benefit multiple special education classrooms at Milwaukee Parkside. The materials will be used for the sensory therapy gym space. This space is shared by over 100 students for self regulation strategies, indoor recess and brain breaks throughout the day. Teachers, specialists, speech pathologists and OT/PT staff utilize the space with entire classrooms, one on one and small groups to work on goals, social interaction and whole class activities. The school added a sensory room three years ago through grants and fundraisers. The materials will be used in conjunction with those materials already in use by students. The space is a daily highlight for students and staff.
