My students always want to learn and experience new instruments and recently they have taken a huge liking to the ukulele! Right now I do not have enough ukuleles for my students, but I am hoping to get enough for a class set, so all my students can have the opportunity to experience the joys and benefits of learning a musical instrument! There have been many studies that have shown that playing music is extremely beneficial for students' emotional and mental well-being and this is especially needed right now after the effects of the pandemic. My students will gain self-esteem, confidence, and be able to practice their social skills while playing and performing with other classmates. Learning the Ukulele will promote many of the Nevada Music Standards. Including MU:Pr5.5.2, MU:Pr4.5.3, MU:Cn11.5.1 and MU:Pr4.4.1
