Distance learning at the end of the last school year was a difficult time. As I tackle the new school year with distant learning, I want to make sure my students are prepared with basic school supplies and a learning tool kit they can use at home. I have picked out a few things my students will need at home to make sure they are ready to start the new school year. Basic supplies such as pencils, scissors, and crayons will be provided as I realized last year that some students don't even have these at home. Math manipulatives such as math cubes and counters are important for young learners. I will be using the baggies to store them as part of their learning tool kit. I also will be making rekenrek bracelets using the beads and pipe cleaner to use for math. The Ziploc bag will be used as their tool kit bag which will hold all their materials, plus their binder of resources, workbooks, and textbooks so they have everything in one place. I hope this excites them that even though they are not physically at school, they have the tools needed to be successful. I am looking forward to putting their school bags together, along with binders with resources and other supplies I already have at hand.
