Take a moment to think about who your favorite teacher was. What qualities made you choose them? Was it their personality? Your experience with the class? Could it have been how they made you feel? These are all important factors that influenced your decision! For me, it was my second grade teacher who made me feel like the most important person in the world! To this day I vividly remember what her classroom looked like and how it impacted my learning. I remember how special I felt because I could feel her outpour of love in the classroom setting and her approach to myself and my classmates. This is why I am making the classroom environment such a priority while developing my own classroom. How you feel in a classroom directly correlates with how successful you will be in your academic growth. This project will make a difference in students' learning because it will support their social-emotional wellbeing. When students feel supported and have a classroom that physically shows their teacher has passion and care they are more receptive to learning. Using the resources from this project I will be able to create an open reading space for students, flexible seating will be an option, and there will be a motivational and creative message communicated to the students. The items I have selected for this project will help me achieve my goal of providing these students with the environment they need and deserve in order to flourish. Once I have these necessary tools I will feel confident and excited about going into my first year of teaching!
