You can't seat every child close to the board, but what if you could bring the board to every child? Even in a typical classroom, the closer a student is to the teacher and the material being studied, the less likely they are to be distracted and, therefore, more focused. A document camera levels this playing field by enhancing an image and displaying it for everyone to see as if they were right next to the teacher. Distance learning widens the gap between teacher and student in myriad of ways. I believe this project will lessen that divide by bringing clarity to voice and image. Visual stimulation through lighting and powerful auditory experiences through microphones will engage them in a more sensory-based virtual classroom. The addition of the document camera will bring both content, instructional material, and modeling front and center as they learn from home. Every child deserves a seat right next to the teacher. Through this project, I can ensure that, simultaneously, they all will.
