My dual language kindergarten students are learning two languages, which can be very challenging for some of them. However, they are smart and eager to improve their native language and learn English at the same time. They are very proud of their backgrounds and cultures. My students deserve the best education because even though their parents may struggle with legal status, financial disadvantage, and overcrowded spaces at home, my students are motivated to learn and be successful in life. With their iPads, they can reinforce what they have learned and continue practicing their academic skills in an engaging way. They can also have access to many websites where they can practice their reading, mathematics and writing skills. My students will improve their vocabulary and language skills by listening to read aloud in both languages.
