Engaging students in reading texts can be difficult especially when teachers are competing with smart technology. Scholastic magazine does a brilliant job of providing fascinating, high-interest articles and stories that are relevant to teens, and they are also aligned with common core standards. Having access to scholastic magazines will give my students the opportunity to develop a passion for reading while mastering ELA standards. Scholastic magazine also has a digital format. With the current uncertainty concerning school, if we have to provide virtual learning to our students, I could easily do that with this curriculum.
