Due to COVID-19, I can no longer use my communal supplies area, and would like to be able to purchase individual sets of classroom supplies for my students. The overwhelming majority of my school's student population cannot afford their own school supplies every year, making this even harder to have my students prepared for class each day. I have had to buy all the school supplies out of my own pocket, which ended up being well over $700 this past year. While I included the necessary pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, etc., I also desperately need a class set of calculators that I can sanitize between classes. I teach science, and the only calculators in the building are class sets in the math classrooms. The calculators I currently have do not have the capabilities of doing physics calculations. With having full class sets of these supplies, I hope to be able to sanitize them between classes and allow my students to stay as safe as possible from COVID-19, while also not having to feel the burden of not having money to purchase their own supplies.
