It is crucial that every student feel seen and represented within their school. I work at a diverse school and I feel that it is my duty as their ELA teacher, that in my classroom, they feel welcomed and can read stories from characters that look like them and love like they do. The books will make a huge difference in my classroom by fostering an atmosphere of reading and learning. These books are full of diverse genres and main characters to help my students feel seen and represented in the literature that they read and that they can find within the walls of my classroom.
