This year with so many uncertainties as to how the school year will operate, I want to ensure the best and safest learning possible for all of my students. One of the best resources I could ever ask for regarding my students (no matter where they will be conducting their learning from) are books. Simple, yet so very, very important to their development as a reader. Reading a book online just doesn't capture the same outcome. With my students being able to have their own physical copies of these books while learning about poetry, it will allow them to take ownership of their reading, understanding and having the ability to be exposed to various types of poetry that lie within these two books. These two books are unlike any other poetry books created and designed for young adult readers and learners. The imagery that they will see, the different types of poetry that they will be exposed to and what they will learn from Jack- the main character in the story in astounding. Students won't just be reading poetry, they will be learning to find their own voices and how to use them as readers, writers, thinkers, inventors and creators in our ever changing world. These two very endearing books will quench their thirst of better understanding poetry but leave them wanting to learn more of the subject.
