En Plein Aire means working outside. Students will be able to get outdoors and create more personal artworks that show their surroundings. Getting outside and seeing colors in life will make student artworks look more vibrant, and their art will be a better expression of their world and how they see themselves in it. By having a variety of media--watercolors, charcoal, water-soluble graphite, and colored pencils--students will be able to create layered works that capture color, texture, and light. It will also allow them to choose which medium is right for their particular project.
