Six year olds love to share everything from crayons and hugs to markers and water bottles. This year my first graders will not be able to share supplies with their classmates. This will be very hard for our young learners who have been taught since they were little to share with others. My project will allow my class to have individual tools that will help promote learning and organization. The zipper pouches will be used to hold a student's math manipulatives such as base ten blocks, pattern blocks and counters. The clear pouches will be large enough to hold student books. My students will be able to sit around the room on the floor and still have a hard surface to write on while using their whiteboard. I'm very excited about the freedom the flexible desks will give my students. They are light weight and will allow my students to find a comfy spot in our room to read and work.
