We are in need of some outdoor physical activity equipment for recess. This would allow the students to have a more structured recess. "Old School games," as they call it, have been shared with them; however, they are not interested at all. Some of the items that the students would be able to benefit from are different types of balls such as basketballs, soccer balls, and regular playground balls. We have several basketball goals, but no basketball balls to play with. Some of the girls have expressed interest in jumping rope, so a few jump ropes would be great. These items would make a difference in their school lives because the physical activity block is the only time when the students are able to just relax and just have fun. Our school day is jam packed with lessons that sometimes have their brains on overload. We are also in need of a few classroom supplies. The school provides some supplies, however it does not supply all of the things that the students need. Some of the supplies needed are pencils, lanyards, and an electric pencil sharpener. The students are required to wear name tags. The lanyards would be a great asset because a lot of the students have lost their name tags because they do not have anything to hold them. The electric pencil sharpener is something that we really need because our current one has stopped working and it has been a challenge sharpening the students' pencils. The school supplies would give the students the things that they need in order to be successful as we close out the school year.
