Right now we are sharing seven texts among a class of about 25 kids. While the text does a great job of breaking down concepts for kids, having to share does not allow for students to spend enough time actually reading the text themselves. Having a text for each student will give them more time to process deep concepts and discover how they can respond to them. More space for individual processing of and response to the text will support students in developing their ideas and exploring how to respond both intellectually and personally.
