I will be a first year teacher and I believe that every student needs to leave school every day with a book bag full of books with content that they love and is near their reading level. My priority when building my library for my students is to provide kids with as many leveled books of high interest and high quality as possible. Classroom libraries that offer a wide range of book choice can have a significant impact on improving reading motivation. I would like to provide a library that includes book series in English and Spanish so that it gives my students opportunities to think and talk across series while supporting readers’ progress towards more complex texts.
