I read a book to my fifth grade students every day. I want to incorporate more diverse books where I can teach my students about other cultures. My school does not have a lot of diversity, so I want to expose my students to characters with different backgrounds than their own. I would also like for my minority students to see characters similar to themselves in the books that we read. My students will love reading these books and these books would open the door for great discussion about diversity!
