Teaching from home was challenging. I never would have imagined that I would find myself remotely teaching from home, and that my students would be learning through Zoom meetings and recorded home videos using only the technology we had available. An iPad would have greatly improved my live lessons and recorded videos. An iPad and Apple Pencil would be amazing tools to develop engaging lessons, record virtual lessons and enhance my instruction during distance learning and in the classroom. During distance learning I used my school issued computer to connect with students and to record lessons for students to access to complete assignments. The lack of technology in addition to the limited resources that were available, produced videos that could have been more consistent and engaging with the updated software and apps that are available on the iPad. It was very difficult to use a mouse to draw and write when teaching on the computer screen. The Apple Pencil is an incredible tool that will allow me to model drawing and writing in my live or virtual lessons. There are so many ways the iPad and Apple Pencil will enhance instruction in the classroom or at home. These tools are doors to newer and higher levels of learning in content, communication, and creativity.
