By being able to add these books into my classroom library it will help my students understand more about other cultures and how many people throughout our history have fought for change and equality. Providing my students with these books will allow for more discussion and a deeper understanding of others and themselves. Creating a diverse library for my classroom would reflect both my classroom culture as well as provide my students with an opportunity to learn more about different cultures and people. This collection would create more opportunities for my students to discuss and embrace the importance of empathy, compassion, kindness, and tolerance.
