All of my students are first time designers in the drama class. I teach 7th-9th so I want to gift them the ability to be wildly creative. With the materials, my students will be able to do a mock costume design, where they draw and create their own superheroes. They will also use the materials to make a shoebox set design, where they create the world of their superheroes on the inside of a box, which will be shown to their parents and faculty in their gallery walk. The materials will also go into theatre history, where they will be able to make Greek masks and a vase for the Greek god Dionysus! The rest of the materials will be used inside of the class for students who cannot afford materials of their own. The additional materials are for students with disabilities. I have many students that come in my class with disabilities and although we have many days where we are on our feet, we have note-taking days and design days which are done at tables, and my students with wiggly feet need something to help keep them grounded to their chairs and stay focused. All of the supplies will be used throughout the school year and shared with 6 classes of 108 kids, my design asks students to get creative, without the stress of having to spend their own money. I want student's designs to be equal with the materials that I have provided them. With donations, it will help to give supplies to my students who cannot afford them and keep the creativity gap at an equal playing field.
