COVID-19 has robbed students of hands-on learning in science classrooms. I want to provide opportunities for my students to study micro-organisms through the use of digital microscopes and live specimens. The digital microscopes has a large screen so it eliminates the need for students to place their faces close to the equipment to view the organisms. Students will be able to continue to be engaged in hands on science experiences within the classroom safely. We will begin our unit learning about the basic unit of life, the cell. From there we will learn about single cell organisms and then move to unicellular organisms. Your generous donation will help students use digital microscopes to view these particular organisms live, instead of looking at pictures on the internet or in a text book. Science will be brought to life right before my students eyes! We will also utilize the digital microscopes when we study forensics later in the year. Students will analyze fingerprints left at crime scenes and solve several school mysteries!
