My students really need a new document camera. The document camera we have in our classroom is barely functioning. The camera arm is held together with tape and it sends out a fuzzy, yellow-hued image. It is also really big and blocks the view for some of my students. We really need a new document camera! My students are excluded from COVID constantly. This is super disruptive because they fall behind in school. The document camera I selected can record our lessons so I can send those lessons to absent students. This means even when excluded from school, they are less likely to fall behind and can come back at the same level as the rest of the class. This helps my students with all of the Nevada Academic Content Standards. It helps them meet standards in math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies. It will be especially helpful for the ELA 5th Grade Writing Standard: Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information. They need a lot of modeling with this standard and having a working document camera is the key to mastering this.
