The absence of a school community during the COVID closure left our students in a world of uncertainty. They were left to make sense of it all without their teachers and classmates. Building up my class library for my 4th-grade resource students will help me use the books for more diverse lessons to bring a broader understanding of cultures. I need to provide an atmosphere in which the students will openly question, analyze, and be inspired to take action in the world. I would like to bring more attention to the issues of advocating for change, making unlikely friends, loss, honoring, and helping others using literacy.
