Scholastic News magazines provide my first graders with current information about our world in an age-appropriate format. They love the colorful articles and feel like “ big kids” when we read them together. I use Scholastic News to help facilitate class discussions that promote critical thinking. I also use them as a springboard to writing as we learn how to write on opinion, narrative, and informative topics. With a year subscription, we are also provided with engaging videos, games, and printable work for each article. I used Scholastic News for the remote online learning we just finished, so it will work in the event we have to learn remotely next school year. Thank you for considering donating to our class of fabulous first graders!
