I am going to implement Classroom Book-a-Day, an initiative started that aims to read one children's book a day together, no matter the grade level, to foster a love of reading and to aid in exploring complex topics and themes through easier to understand, shorter books. These themes can then be explored in the longer, more advanced texts we are expected to teach to our freshmen. Through these books, I also seek to promote acceptance, tolerance, respect, and diversity, and I have included many books to educate my students on different cultures, backgrounds, body types, sexual orientations, races, and more.
