Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, especially through play! They gleefully read books, draw pictures, build structures, and pretend play throughout the day. They beam with joy as they proudly identify letters and discover sounds. They love to learn. A critical component in our PreK classroom is learning through play, sharing, turn-taking, and problem solving. Our classroom is in a dire need of an update of our social centers. The items I have chosen will provide countless opportunities for my students to participate in pretend play, make believe, and friendship-forming opportunities. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are engaged for a time to develop social-emotional skills independently. Play is vital in the development of young children to create, love, and inspire.
