In first grade one of the biggest learning goals is to go from writing simple sentences to complex sentences to eventually paragraphs! The primary composition books will provide my students access to the same quality materials. They will have the support of primary handwriting lines to work on letter formation & what we refer to as "first grade handwriting". It is important that students are practicing skills and working on writing using materials that are developmentally appropriate at home; just like if they were at school. Not only do composition notebooks help keep everything in one place and organized it allows us to go back and look at all of the growth the student make within their writing in First Grade. Not knowing what next school year will bring just yet; I want to make sure that with help from you all I can provide all of my students with the materials that they will need to begin working on writing from day 1.
