Kindergartners learn with their entire bodies but sometimes classrooms are not set up to support them in this way. I am to make this classroom a safe place to move, learn, and stay engaged without needing to say "NO! DON'T! STOP!" Our classroom will be filled with the adults saying "WOW! Great idea! I bet it felt great to read in the bean bag chair." With the added pressure of success in elementary schools, students needs time to move in order to feel regulated and ready to learn again. The sit and spin will be used to offer a movement break for students. The bean bag chair will be an alternative sitting area to work independently. Sensory supports will be added to bins for students to engage with before returning back to focused work feeling refreshed.
