Many of these students had very little awareness of space activities happening during their lifetimes and were equally unaware of the many roles they could participate in shaping their future. Mathematical modeling has tremendous application and NASA missions present a perfect opportunity for our future leaders to consider how they may contribute. Through their explorations of Earth's historical human population growth to the hypothetical growth of extraterrestrial worlds, our 'astrobiology' mathematicians are learning that choices we make now shape our future. Thank you for helping our students feel intimately part of this effort.
